Trelissick Gardens
The magnificent Caerhays Castle and Gardens, home of the National Magnolia Collection, (pictured above) is a short drive. You can visit the castle and gardens, walk in the grounds and visit the stunning beaches which make up the estate. Please check their website for opening periods.
We are blessed with many beautiful gardens on the Roseland. Below are a selection.
- Lamorran Gardens is a sub-tropical garden set in 4 acres with stunning views to St Anthony's Head and the sea. It is located on the Upper Castle Road in St Mawes.
- Trelissick House and Gardens are just over the King Harry Ferry. Owned by the National Trust, they are set in 400 acres and boast sweeping parkland and impressive collections of rhododendrons, camellias and hydrangeas and sub-tropical plants.
- Trewithen House and Gardens describes itself as "an historic, privately-owned Cornish estate with beautiful gardens famous for their plant hunter origins, royal connections and astonishing variety of species". It is located just off the A390 between St Austell and Truro just north of Probus.
- The Lost Gardens of Heligan are one of Cornwall's biggest attractions and one of the most popular botanical gardens in the UK. Just 11 miles away, they can be reached by taking the B3287 from Tregony towards St Austell and then taking the Mevagissey road.
